LIGHTING REGULATIONS
DETAILS OF RELAXATION Details of the relaxation of lighting restrictions are contained in the Gazette. The latest order operates from December 24. It has the effect of suspending until further notice most of the previous lighting restrictions, but the latter have not been repealed and may be brought into full force again at any time. All blackout requirements in the event of an emergency remain unaffected. Exterior lighting of all kinds, including electric-discharge tubes, interior lighting of buildings, and lights on vehicles, revert to normal and windows need not be covered. It is required, however, that no light M outside any premises is to be left on time-switch control, and all external lights must be switched off during hours of darkness unless a responsible person, aged 14 or over, is in attendance to operate the light-control switches.
