C.opyrlß-tU) LONDON, Dec. 12 According to information gleaned from Guernsey (Channel Islands) newspapers, at least 728 men, including clergymen, were deported to Germany from Guernsey in September. There is a shortage of small change on the island, and also of most foods. Meat, potatoes and fuel are rationed. The islanders have developed a system of barter, exchanging shoes for sugar and soap, and apples for cups and saucers.
