AMERICANS TAKE OVER (Official Wireless) (Received Dec. 10. 3.15 p.m.} RUGBY, Dec. 9 The United States Army Headquarters states that while American and Britisli officers and men stood at attention and Flying Fortresses swooped low overhead the United States Army Air Forces today took over formally the first of a number of airfields previously acquired from the Royal Air Force. American and British airmen lined the approaches to the flagpole as the Union Jack was lowered and the Stars and Stripes run to the masthead.
