Shepherd, of Harwood Street, Hamilton, that their son, Lance-Corporal Herbert W. Shepherd, figures among the list of wounded during operations in the Middle East. Lance-Corporal Shepherd was born in Auckland 25 years ago and attended the Hamilton High School before joining the Justice Department. He was stationed in Wellington and Palmerston North before enlisting, and went overseas nearly two years ago. POSTED MISSING HAMILTON AIRMAN Mr and Mrs Charles Croall, of Bledisloe Terrace, Hamilton, have received official notification that their only son, Sergeant-Pilot Charles Croall, is posted missing on air operations. Sergeant-Pilot Croall is 26 years of age and was educated at the Mahoenui Public School and the New Plymouth Boys’ High School. He joined the Royal NeW Zealand Air Force on January 1, 1941, receiving his training at Levin and Whenuapai. In April, 1941, he sailed for Canada, where he gained his wings, and arrived in England in August. Since the beginning of 1942 he has been captain of a heavy bomber, with Sergeant-Pilot Ray Hill, of Wellington, as his second pilot. All six members of his crew have been New Zealanders.
