DATES CANCELLED REVISED LIST ANNOUNCED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday The sub-committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference executive today decided to cancel the following dates allotted for race meetings to be held during the current racing season:— April 11, Greyrnouth, Riverton, Avondale; April 18, Wanganui, Reef ton; May 2, Franklin, Canterbury; May 2 or 9, Marlborough; May 9, Egmont; May 16, South Canterbury, Waikato, Otaki; May 23, Foxton; June 1, Napier Park, Dunedin. Auckland; June 6, Hawke’s Bay; June 20, Ashburton, Waipa; July 4, Dannevirke Hunt; July 18, Waimate District Hunt, Manawatu Hunt; July 25, Rangitikei Hunt, Rotorua. The revised list of dates of meetings to be held after Easter Monday until the end of the racing season is as follows:—April 11, Hawke’s Bay; April 18, South Canterbury; May 2, Waverley, Southland; May 9, Avondale! Ashburton; May 16, Egmont; May 23, Waikato; May 30, Wanganui, Napier Park, Dunedin, Auckland; June 6, Wanganui, Auckland, Dunedin; June 13, Hawke’s Bay; June 20, Manawatu; June 27, Manawatu, Oamaru; July 4, Wellington; July 11, Wellington; July 25, South Canterbury Hunt; August 1, Christchurch Hunt. One day is reserved for the combined meeting to be held by the Manawatu and Rangitikei Hunt Clubs either on July 18 or 25. This latest revision of dates means that whereas there was to have been four consecutive Saturdays’ racing at Te Rapa in May, only two Saturdays will now be utilised,the Waikato Trotting Club racing on May 2, and the Waikato Racing Club on May 23. HELP OF RACING CONFERENCE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Saturday Mr A. S. El worthy, president of the New Zealand Racing Conference, said that immediately on receipt of the Government’s decision to curtail racing he arranged at the earliest possible moment for a special meeting of a sub-committee or the executive to put into effect the Government's decision to reduce by half the racing to be held after Easter Monday. The proposals had been completed and he hoped the clubs which suffered cuts would accept the decision in the right spirit. The Government was assured of the support of the Conference, and at the same time it appreciated the fact that sufficient days of racing still remained “to keep the sport going. AUSTRALIAN MEASURES (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) SYDNEY, March 27 Cuts in the prize money for the Doncaster Handicap from £2OOO to £IOOO and for the Sydney Cup from £SOOO to £ISOO have been necessitated by the change from Randwick to the Rosehill course. This was announced after a meeting of the Australian Jockey Club committee today. The total reduction in stakes over the whole programme is from £20,000 to £7OOO. The Sires Produce Stakes has been reduced from £2500 to £750.
