ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

11,230 MEMBERS IN DOMINION Last year was one of considerable activity for the St. John Ambulance Brigade in New Zealand. In his annual report, Colonel Barclay, the Chief Commissioner for the Dominion, states that the membership, which stood at 8414 a year ago, is now 11,230. Ninety-six new divisions and sections were formed, a record for any one year. Over 1000 of the male personnel have enlisted in the armed forces. Many Voluntary Aides are serving in hospitals and camps in the Dominion and overseas. The number of services performed by members amounted to 120,959. Instruction was continued in A.R.P. work. The brigade plays an important part in the medical and health section of the Emergency Precautions Service. The Cadet branch of the brigade has shown a wonderful development.
