WORK DURING EASTER

APPEAL BY FEDERATION (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday The executive of the New Zealand Federation of Labour has issued a strong appeal to all workers engaged in urgent defence works to carry on during the Easter holidays:—“ln normal times a few days’ respite would be a normal and well-earned reward for hard work,” says the Federation, “but these are not normal times and a few days’ respite from urgent work may mean a few days lost to us and a few days gained for the ‘enemy. We, therefore, issue a strong appeal to all workers engaged in urgent defence works to work through the Easter holidays. We feel confident that our people will respond to the appeal, realising that each ounce of their energy may mean another nail in the coffin of the enemy.”
