INCLUSION IN BOROUGH WAIKATO COUNTY SUGGESTION In a letter received from the Waikato County Council referring to the requisition of the Health Department for the provision of drainage and sewerage facilities for Fairfield and Hillcrest, it was suggested to the Hamilton Borough Council last night that the areas concerned and the Melville area in the Waipa County, which was also subject to the requisition, should be incorporated in the Hamilton Borough. The County Council pointed out that under the present conditions there would be difficulty in completing the work under dual control and possible trouble over maintenance. To prevent the same trouble occurring again the Borough Council was asked to support a request that in any future sub-divisions outside the areas where the drainage and like facilities were offering, the owner of the properties being sub-divided should have to provide adequate arrangements before the sub-division was agreed to. The letter was referred to the Finance and Trading Committee. Warm and Humid This morning Hamilton awoke to an overcast sky and drizzling rain, which later increased to a steady fall, and conditions were warm and humid. In the 24 hours ended at ‘J a.m. today the maximum and minimum temperatures were 74 and 64 degrees respectively and the rainfall in the same period was .07in. The barometer reading was 30.20in., and further unsettled weather may be experienced.
