ADMIRAL HART’S POST

RETURN TO UNITED STATES (United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright) WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 At a press conference, President Roosevelt said Admiral Hart was returning to the United States with the title of Commander-in-Chief of the Asiatic Fleet. He explained that this designation still existed for a section of the Fleet, although for purposes of co-operation the United Nations and American sea forces in the Pacific battle areas had been called the American Forces of the Southwest Pacific. A reporter remarked that some of Admiral Hart’s friends thought he had an unfortunate deal. Mr Roosevelt replied: “That’s typical of Admiral Hart. He is not well.”
