DUTCH ISLAND OF CURACAO (United Press Assn.—fc-tc Tei. Copyright) WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 The State Department has announced that a United States army contingent has been sent to the islands of Curacao and Aubua, off the northern coast of Venezuela, at the request of the Netherlands Government, to assist Dutch forces in the defence of the islands and the oil refineries there. United States forces will operate under the general supervision of the Governor of Curacao, and will be withdrawn upon the termination of the emergency.
