ASSOCIATION AVERAGES The 100,362 cows in 1882 herds under test by the Auckland Herd Improvement Association during January, 1942, averaged 662 lb. milk, 4.84 test and 32 lb. fat. For the same month last year the 111,343 cows (2033 herds) tested gave an average of 666 lb. milk, 4.78 test and 31.9 lb. fat. The highest producing herds in the association’s territory were one of 35 cows in the Clevedon group and one of 62 cows in the Te Awamutu group, each with an average of 48 ib. butterfat. The best groups in the association were Matiere-Ohura and Pic* Pio. At Matiere-Oeura the average was 730 10. milk, 4.98 test and 36 lb. fat, while Pio Pio’s average from 1275 cows was 673 lb. milk, 5.30 test and 36 lb. Ifcl
