DISPLAY OF DANCING

SUCCESS IN HAMILTON The administration of the technique of the Royal Academy of Dancing, London, from grade 1 to the advanced standards, was given by the pupils of the Nettleton-Edwards School of Dancing, under the direction of Miss Sheila D’Arcy Smith, at St. Peter’s Hail, Hamilton, on Saturday afternoon. Before the programme commenced Miss D’Arcy Smith explained that in addition to showing the children in ballets and solo dances the display would illustrate the technique of the students and the preparation of the dancer for the high standard of work required for the examination which the Royal Academy of Dancing held in New Zealand each year. The first part of the programme was devoted to Barre work, which Miss D’Arcy Smith said was most important. It was the foundation on which was built the lovely grace of the dancer.
