RUSSIA’S DETERMINATION

“WE MUST BEAR THE STRAIN” DESPERATE STRUGGLE FOR MOSCOW MESSAGE TO PEOPLE—KEEP GERMANS OUT LONDON, Nov. 27 The Germans are slowly creeping nearer to Moscow. Before reading the news bulletin tonight the announcer from the Moscow radio station broadcast a message to the troops around Moscow and to the remainder of Russia. He said that Moscow was very dear to the Russians and they would not let the Germans enter it. Every day and every hour the struggle for Moscow is becoming more stubborn and more critical. The Russian troops cannot retreat, as behind them stands Moscow. The announcer concluded: “We can, we must, hear the strain.” The Germans are throwing in six tank and five infantry divisions in one sector of the Moscow front in an attempt to make a break-through of tome value. There appears little change on other sectors of the front.
