MEETING OF LEAGUE MEMBERS The League of Wives and Mothers of ex-servicemen and men of H.AT. fighting forces, recently held its fortnightly meeting in the Citizens’ Band Room, when there was a large attendance of members. Mrs D. 1. Gate presided. Final arrangements were made for the exhibition to be held in Toorak Hall on October 14. Hostesses for the fighting forces buffet run by the league each week-end were elected. Letters were read from members’ sons and husbands overseas, who had received parcels sent from the league. The badge of the league was distributed. During the afternoon Airs J. Ward Chapman, district chairwoman of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary, addressed the meeting, and asked for volunteers to held in distributing posters in the coming “Don't talk" campaign. Alany members offered to assist, and were given arm bands. An amusing competition brought by Mrs Elvey, was won by Airs Mangna.ll. Afternoon tea brought a busy afternoon to a close.
