In the second division Foxlore made amends for recent disappointments wnen he won narrowly in an exciting finish with Silver Clarion. White Chief, on the rails began smartest and In company with Silver Clarion led the way at the hair-mlle rrom Foxlore. Empire Rose, Bronze Royai iflid ElJse. Silver Clarion and White Chief were still on terms as they ran to the turn in front of Foxlore and In the run home Foxlore did best to win by a head from Silver Clarion, with Nordic Song two lengths away. Along the back the last time there was little between Teddy Roy. Dauber and Prlval in the lead, with Nyola. Kena. Flylite and Maxown In that order. At the half-mile Flylite had run up behind Teddy Boy, and this pair was in charge from Dauber, Prlval. Nyola, Kena and Maxown. Winner trained by owner, Cambridge. Though he had been running fairly consistently or late, Sure Pay, in winning from end to end today registered his first success for 12 months. Beginning smartly he hit the Trout rrom the outset and, arter being clear at the home turn, carried on to give nothing else a chance. Among the likely improvers noted was the Te Rapatrained Panoni, who in her first up in the season, went a very creditable race, fading out only in the last furlong after being with the leaders up to this stage, sure Pay and Dinky Di were prominent early and the pair led along the back rrom Rex Maitland.
