CHINESE VICTORY
OCCUPATION OF ICHANG (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Oct. 11, 3.15 p.m.) CHUNGKING, Oct. 10 The complete occupation of Ichang by Chinese forces is announced by the Central News. The Japanese rear lines east of Ichang have been cut off, trapping the 13th division. The Chinese leaders acclaim the Ichang victory as China’s greatest since the battle of Tai-Chwang in 1938. The victory has caused wild celebrations in Chungking.
