WEDDING
MADILL— SIMPSON IVORY GEORGETTE GOWN The wedding took place at All Saints’ Church, Matamata, recently of Kathleen Grace (Pat) Simpson, I youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. | Simpson, and Marcus Wintere j Madill, elder son of Mr and Mrs M. i Madill, Taihoa. The Rev. G. F. W. I Oulds officiated. The bride, who was given away j by her father, wore a gown of ivory ] georgette over taffeta, fashioned on j simple lines. The bodice was ! gathered into a high neckline and bad long tight-fitting sleeves form- ! ing a point over the hands. The full skirt fell gracefully to form a long train from a fitting waistline and was trimmed with a scroll of pleated georgette. Her tulle veil, which was gathered to a top-knot of velvet flowers, formed a second train. The bouquet was a cascade of freesias. Mrs J. Simpson, jun., attended the bride as matron-of-honour and Miss D. Cranswick, cousin of the bride, as bridesmaid. They wore picture frocks of fuschia chiffon over taffeta i with head-dresses of velvet flowers, : and carried floral horseshoes. The bridegroom was attended by Mr W. Connel as best man and Mr J. Madill as groomsman. Messrs T. Bluck and J. Simpson, jun., acted as ushers. The reception was held at Loveridge's Tearooms, where Mrs J. Simpson received the guests wearing a light blue crepe romaine ensemble with a black hat and black accessories. Mrs Simpson was assisted by Mrs M. Madill, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a Burgundy ensemble with hat and accessories tc tone, and she carried a posy of cyclamen-shaded flowers. When Mr and Mrs M. W. Madill left on a tour of the South Island ’ the bride was wearing a dusky pink ensemble with a hat and accessories l to match.
