YOUNG WOMAN KILLED

TRUCK HITS TELEGRAPH POLE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) HASTINGS, Sunday A young woman was fatally injured when a truck in which she was travelling struck a telegraph pole at an intersection at 1.30 o’clock yesterday morning. The victim was:— Miss Edna Hoy, aged 18, of Havelock North. Miss Hoy died in the Hastings Hospital early this morning. The driver of the truck, Mr Allen Hoy, aged 22, suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital. Miss N. Simonson, aged 18, suffered shock and minor injuries, but was able to go home.
