MEDICAL TESTS FOR FORCES. INDICTMENT CLAIMED WELLINGTON, Thursday Figures showing the degree of unfitness in medical examinations for the armed services were an indictment of the health system of the community, said the Minister of Health, the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer, when speaking in the House of Representatives tonight on the Social Security Amendment Bill. The Minister gave figures compiled up to three months ago. Of the 5225 men examined for the Navy, 1947 were classified as unfit. Men examined for the Air Force totalled 11,350, of whom 4600 were unfit.

Of the 146,290 men examined for the Army 53,000 were unfit. Of a total of 162,865 men examined 59,000 oi approximately 38 per cent were unfit.
