PREPARING FOR SEASON

ST. PETER S TENNIS CLUB The annual general meeting of St. Peter’s Tennis Club was held on Wednesday and was very well attended. In reviewing the past season the chairman, Mr C. F. Davey, stated that the club had been fortunate in having a most successful season. Membership had increased from 75 to 100, in spite of there being 17 members on active service. Through the efforts of its members, the club had contributed during the season the useful sum of £7 15s 6d to the patriotic funds. The following officers were elected: Patron, Bishop Cherrington; president, Mr C. F. Davey; vicepresidents, Messrs J. F. McCullagh, H. McFarlane and H. H. Short; club-captain, Mr A. W. Redfern; secretary, Mr E. W. Lee; as-sistant-secretary, Mrs Calderwood; treasurer, Miss D. Whiteman; committee, Mrs Gilling, Miss O. Hilder, Messrs K. A. Preston and I. D. James. Opening day was fixed for Saturday, October 4.
