TRAFFIC OFFENCES
FAILURE TO GIVE WAY The driver of a passenger vehicle on August 8, Wilfred Glover, of Frankton, was fined £1 by Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, today for failing to give way to the right at the intersection of Alexandra and Collingwood Streets. Glover had pleaded not guilty, but after the evidence of Joseph B. Trevarton, driver of the other vehicle involved in a collision, defendant admitted he was at fault, adding that rain falling heavily at the time made it difficult to keep on the correct side or see other traffic. For using a vehicle without a rear number plate and tail-light on August 31, Owen Thomas Jones, of Hamilton (Mr W. J. King) was fined 10s on each of two charges. Joseph B. Trevarton, Fow Street, was fined 10s for having no warrant of fitness.
