DARTS CHAMPION
PERFORMANCE IN ENGLAND The fame of George Caley, the Royal Air Force steward who specialises in darts- wizardry, has become so widespread that hundreds of people assemble in order to see him perform, says a London paper. George seems to be improving! At any rate, he threw ten darts and six entered the bull, three were inners (which means the 25 “enclosure”), and the tenth dropped off the board. Just consider the position. No dart was removed until the tenth had been thrown —and six were in the bull!
Close upon 500 spectators cheered this astounding feat, and George’s Royal Air Force comrades are ready to back him against anyone in the matter of scoring bulls. “It has taken a lot of practice, but I think I have mastered the bull,” says George.
He has now added another silver cup to his collection (making six in all), apart from other trophies. There were about 250 competitors for this cup, and George played eight times (1001 up each time) before he won it. The highest number of darts he threw was 29 in the second round, and tjie lowest was 23—in the final.
