SPINAL MENINGITIS
CASE FROM HOPU HOPU THREE IN WAIKATO HOSPITAL One case of cerebro-spinal meningitis, a territorial from the Hopu Hopu military camp, was admitted to the Waikato Hospital yesterday. His condition is fair. An inspection of the camp has been made by officers from the Health Department and all precautions have been taken. Contacts with the affected man have been isolated and will not have any leave for ten days. Other leave from the camp will not be affected. This makes the third case of spinal meningitis admitted to the Waikato Hospital, the other two being from Karapiro. There are 41 cases of measles and influenza in the West School hospital, and the position with regard to the epidemics is steady. NO MORE CASES IN AUCKLAND (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Thursday No further meningitis cases have been admitted to the Auckland Hospital. There are 17 cases in hospital, not all of which have been declared positive. There are 84 soldier patients at the Ellerslie racecourse hospital—66 cases of measles and 18 of mumps.
