FOOTBALL DANCE
NGARUAYVAHIA LEAGUE CLUB The Oddfellows’ Hall was recently the venue of friends and supporters of the Ngaruawahia Rugby League Club, when a ftance was given in honour of three keen and enthusiastic members, Privates T. Stubbing, L. Stubbing and N. Kelly, who are with the Forces. The president, Mr W. J. Taylor, spoke in glowing terms of the work Messrs T. and L/Stubbing and Kelly had done for the club, and presented them each with a leather hold-all.
The evening was spent in dancing interspersed with items by Mrs G. Jew, Privates L. and T. Stubbing, Private N. Kelly and Mr C. Malley. Music was supplied by Mrs P. Connolly, with extras played by Mrs W. Matangi and Mrs P. Matheson. Mr A. Menzies was Master of Ceremonies. A novelty waltz was won by Mrs E. Brown and Private T. Stubbing. Those present included Mesdames B. Wilson, E. Brown, A. Menzies, Dwyer (Horotiu), A. Robinson, F. Barakat, W. R. Wilson, G. Jew, J. Wallbank, P. Matheson, L. Sewell, M. Stubbing, Compton, E.
