OPINIONS AIRED ißy Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday A number of resolutions from branches in all parts of the Dominion relative to conscientious objectors and defaulters were dealt with by the Dominion executive oi the Returned Soldiers’ Association. Criticism that appeals to the proposed tribunals are to be held in camera was made, and drastic penalties for defaulters were urged. The committee decided to request information in regard to single reservists, some of whom it is understood have not yet been mobilised. The question of the employment ol conscientious objectors and the penalty, if any, which will follow dismissal of such objectors by employers is also to be investigated. The committee is also to consider a suggestion for a special Dominion council meetmg to deal with such urgent matters as the war effort, universal service, war pensions and rehabilitation.
