Mrs Shirtcliffe, Wellington, is | staying with her mother, Mrs Broadj bent, Hamilton. Miss B. Higginson, Tirau, has been visiting Hamilton. * * * * The League of Mothers will hold a bring and buy afternoon in St. Andrew’s Hall on Friday, August 1, at 2 p.m. in aid of its Lady Galway sewing circle and soldiers’ parcels fund. All members and friends are i cordially envited. The Whitiora Women’s Institute will hold a bring and buy stall outside the Patriotic House on Friday, August 1, as their effort toward the overseas soldiers’ parcels. Any Institutes in the Hamilton Group wishing to contribute their quota in this manner, may do so on application to the Patriotic House for an available date on which to hold their stall. Women are urgently required to register with the Women’s War Service Auxiliary as the Government intends in the near future to replace men in the aerodromes where practicable, with members of the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force, which is chosen from the latter organisation. Registration cards and application forms can be obtained from the secretary, Mrs D. Boyt, Tainui Street, or at the registration bureau, Garden Place. This is an all important branch of war work, and one which deserves the earnest support of all women available for performing it. * * * * Women who are willing to attend classes in mothercraft dealing more particularly with premature babies, are also asked to send their names to the above address. CAMBRIDGE Misses Phyllis Nelson, Heather Taylor, Coralie Foster, Pat Nickle and Sheila Richardson were weekend visitors to the Chateau Tongariro, National Park. Miss Anne Blomfield, Otorohanga, has been visiting Cambridge as the guest of Mrs D. J. Lundon. Mrs G. Gane, Wellington, is visiting her mother, Mrs C. W. Gane. Mrs G. Hulse is visiting Auckland. Miss Jessie Watt, who has been spending several weeks in Auckland, has returned to Cambridge. ♦ * * * Mrs L. Carey has returned to Cambridge after a holiday in Wellington and Wanganui. Mrs Seton Otway has been visiting Auckland. TIRAU Mrs S. Hetherington, Tirau, has returned from a visit to Gisborne. Mrs J. Kinnear is spending a holiday in Auckland.
Mrs W. Stewart, Huntly, has been the guest of her mother, Mrs W. S. Goodwin. Miss Nancye Graham, of Auckland, was a recent visitor to Okoroire. * * * * Mrs Lewis, Stewart Island, is spending a month’s holiday at Okoroire Springs. * * * * 1 Mrs Douglas Aldridge, Waiterimu. Ohinewai., will arrive in Okoroire this week to visit Mrs E. Hardwick. Miss Dorothy Graham, Okoroire Springs, has been visiting her home, Mission Bay, Auckland.
