KAIPAKI MEN HONOURED
A largely attended function was held in the Kaipaki Hall recently in honour of three local men, Privates Francis Searle, Harold Booth and James Sexton. Speaking on behalf of the district, Mr C. Garmonsway wished the men good luck and a sale return and presented Privates Searle and Sexton with fountain pens and eversharp pencils and Private Booth with a fitted leather writing case. The evening was spent in dancing, Mrs Flyger, Rukuhia, presiding at the piano. Messrs E. Farrell and T. Gar.ley were masters of ceremonies. A novelty dance was won by Mr Paui and Miss Ina Farrell, and the card prizes were won by Mr Flyger and Mrs Larsen. Supper was served by the ladies of the patriotic social committee.
