CRABB—WILSON EMBROIDERED SATIN FROCK St. Peter’s Cathedral, Hamilton, was the scene of a charming wedding yesterday, May 14, when Ailsa Met;- . ail, younger daughter of Mrs A. W. Wilson, of Ohaupo Road, Hamilton, and the late Mr F. T Wilson, was married t.o Frederick Mabb, twin son of Mr and Mrs W. M. Crabb, of Peria, Matamata. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. T. P. Weatherhog, Dean of Hamilton, and Mr Stanley Jackson presided at the organ. The cathedral was beautifully arranged with hydrangeas and chrysanthemums. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr E. W. Burton, was wearing a lovely cream satin gown, adorned on the bodice, sleeves and train with eyelet embroidery. Her veil of tulle was held to the head by a posy of nerines and orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of white nerines, chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. The Bridesmaid Miss Muriel Melles, of Auckland, was in attendance on the bride as bridesmaid, and she was in a graceful mist blue faille frock. A posy of red roses and carnations was worn in the hair and she carried a bonquet of the same flowers. The best man was Mr Archie Crabb, brother of the bridegroom. Following the ceremony a reception was held at “Rotokute,” Ohaupo Road, the home of the bride, where the rooms had been artistically arranged with autumn foliage, zinnias and hydrangeas. Mrs Wilson received her guests in a black lace frock worn with a black and white hat and. a fur coat. Her posy was composed of pink bouvardias, rosebuds and maidenhair fern. The mother of the bridegroom was wearing a black frock, a black hat and a fur coat and she carried a posy in autumn tints. When Mr and Mrs F. M. Crabb left by car on their honeymoon, the bride travelled in a black and white sprigged woollen suit and a matching fur trimmed hat and cape. They will make their home in Okoroire. McBURNEY —GEACH IVORY SATIN GOWN The marriage was solemnised in Holy Trinity Church, Ngaruawahia, on the morning of May 10, between Elma Kathleen Florence (Mollie), younger daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Geach, of River Road, Ngaruawahia, and Harold James (Tim), youngest son of Mr and Mrs G. Mcßumey, of Old Taupiri Road, Ngaruawahia. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Micheal, and Mr S. Sampson presided at the organ. The church had been charmingly arranged by friends of the bride with pink and ivory dahlias, and blue hydrangeas. The bride, who was given away by Mr R. Skewes, wore a beautiful gown of ivory slipper satin. The bodice was fashioned with a high pointed neckline, the sleeves forming points over the wrists. The full skirt fell to form a long heart-shaped train, tiny sprigs of orange blossom being its only trimming. Her veil of embroidered tulle was caught to the head with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Two bridesmaids attended the bride, Miss Irene Mcßumey, sistei* of the bridegroom, and Miss Noeline Skewes. They wore similar frocks, the former of periwinkle blue, and the latter of shell pink chiffon over taffeta. The bodices were fashioned with square necklines with diamante trimming, and the very full skirts fell from tight-fitting waists. They wore toning halos of pleated tulle attached to the head with narrow bands of flowers and they carried bouquets of gold chrysanthemums, pink chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. The best man was Mr A. N. McBurney, brother of the bridegroom, and the groomsman was Mr R. Hamblin. The ushers were Mr H. G. Mcßumey and Mr K. Snowden. The Reception After the ceremony the reception was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, which was arranged with ivory, blue and pink streamers, and toning chrysanthemums. Mrs T. Geach received her guests wearing a smart wine ensemble and furs, and she carried a posy of autumn flowers. Mrs G. HILL—JOHNSTON MILITARY WEDDING The marriage was solemnised in St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Hamilton, on the afternoon of Saturday, May 10, between Elizabeth Alice, elder daughter of Mr F. Johnson and the late Mrs Johnston, of 40 Abbotsford Street, Hamilton, and Private Clement Raymond Hill, younger son of Mrs R. Hill, and the late Mr Hill, of Ngaruawahia. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. R. B. Tinsley, and Mr B. Kirker : presided at the organ. The church had been beautifully arranged with *

cream and pink chrysanthemums. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory slipper satin, fashioned on princess lines. The bodice was arranged with a heart-shaped neckline, the lull sleeves tapering to a point over the hands. Tiny buttons fastened the back from the neck to waist line, and the full skirt fell to form a long train. Her beautiful veil of embroidered tulle was fastened to the head with a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of ivory chrysanthemums and carnations. Mrs ft. Johnston, of Whangarei, attended as matron-of-honour. Miss Olive Johnston, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. They wore charming frocks of salmon pink taffeta fashioned alike with fitting bodices, heart-shaped neck lines and fully gathered sleeves. The skirts fell to form a full flare. They wore sprays of toning flowers in their hair and carried bouquets of pink chrysanthemums and carnations relieved with touches of blue sweet peas. Lance-Corporal H. Hill attended his brother as best man, and Private J. Forrest was groomsman. The ushers were Messrs J. Lydford, K. McNeil and Corporal I. L. Johnston. During the signing of the register a solo was rendered by Miss Joyce Griffin, of Whangarei. Miss Griffin also sang at the reception. After the ceremony the reception was held in the Centreway Rooms, j which were charmingly arranged i with flowers in shades of ivory and ! pink. The guests were received my J Miss O. M. Goodman, of Wellington, ! aunt of the bride, who wore a smart brown ensemble with a fur cape and a shoulder spray in autumn tonings. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs R. Hill, who wore a smart teal fur-trimmed ensemble with black accessories. She carried a posy in autumn tonings. The bride’s grandmother, Mrs E. S. Johnston, wore a black costume and furs and carried a posy in autumn shades. When Private C. R. Hill and Mrs • Hill left by car for the honeymoon i the bride travelled in a teal frock worn with a grey coat and hat and navy accessories.
