DAMAGE AT MALTA

RAIDERS SHOT DOWN (United press Assn.—Etec. Tel. copyright) LONDON, May 7 A heavy raid was carried out on Malta by enemy aircraft on Tuesday, says a communique from Royal Air Force headquarters in the Middle East. Some damage was caused to military and civil property. Fighters intercepted the enemy, but were in turn attacked by Messerschmitts and the combat was inconclusive. Three bombers were shot down.
