FRANCE AND GERMANY CONCESSIONS BY NAZIS PROTEST TO SPAIN (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received May 9, 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, May 8 According to the American Press, the Vichy semi-official spokesman stated that the German Government has made concessions to France because it wished to acknowledge the fidelity with which the French Government has observed the armistice conditions. The Reich gesture has initiated a positive contribution toward closer ties between the two nations. It is reported from Vichy that despite Admiral Darlan’s return the French-German conversations are continuing in Paris. Admiral Darlan has still not announced any French concessions. VICHY, May 8 The French Government, acting for the Sultan of Morocco, has strongly protested to Spain against the occupation of the International Zone at Tangiers and the taking over of the functions of the Sultan’s Viceroy.
