REDUCTION TO A THIRD BRITISH FIRM’S QUOTA (Bv Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Thursday A British manufacturer of cotton piece goods has cabled importers that its export quota allotment for 1941 has been fixed at one-third of the quantity it exported in 1940. This is stated to be first definite advice yet received of the extent of a cut since the intention to fix ft quota was announced. The British concern stated it was compelled through the allocation to reduce all orders accordingly. Under the instructions given to it by the British authorities responsible for the allocation, there was no provision for new bnsiness and no yarn was available at present for special orders.
