DIFFICULTIES OVERCOME
V.M.—Y.W.C.A. ASSOCIATION SUCCESSFUL YEAR REVIEWED “Despite many difficulties this association has experienced a Very successful year, as the balance sheet discloses, and the future looks fairly bright,” said Mr E. Trevena, chairman , at the annual meeting of the Hamilton branch of the Young Men’s and Young Women’s Christian Association last night. The chairman reported that owing to the demand on men for military purposes the membership had decreased slightly. One member had been killed as the result of an accident in New Zealand. When asked to express an opinion on the manner in which the association would operate in the coming year, Mr Trevena’s reply was that the association would continue its activities on similar lines to past years. He expressed the opinion that before long the association s building would be staffed solely by women. The following were elected to the Board of Directors:—-Messrs E. Trevena, W. A. Curteis, L. Cross, F. Findlay, W. B. Pomeroy, J. Treloar, B. E. Woodham, L. Cooke, with the addition of three women, to be appointed by the Y.W.C.A. management committee. This committee will be the same as last year.
