BRAMALD-SIMPSON BRIDE IN PARCHMENT SATIN A charming wedding was solemnised at the Church of Christ, Claudelands, recently, when Edith Margaret, second daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Simpson, of 76 Claude Street, Claudelands, was married to Allan Maxwell, only son of Mr and Mrs F. D. Bramald, of Firth Street, Hamilton East. The ceremony was performed by Pastor J. Salisbury, and Mr K. Robinson played the wedding music. The church was decorated with white lilies and sweetpeas by friends of the bride. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely gown of parchment satin cut on classical lines, the slim-fitting skirt falling from a high waistline to form a graceful oval train, which was caught with orange

blossom. The pleated bodice, which was adorned at the back with a row of tiny buttons, featured a V-shaped neckline and the fitting sleeves tapered to points over the hands. Her long embroidered tulle veil fell in soft folds from a coronet of pearls and orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of Madonna lilies, real orange blossom and maidenhair fern. The Attendants In attendance on the bride as bridesmaids were her sister, Miss Z. Simpson, and Miss G. Redman, who were similarly frocked in pale green ninon. The frocks were designed with pointed corsages, heart-shaped necklines and fully puffed sleeves, and the bouffant skirts were trimmed with ruched true-lovers’ knots. Their short tulle veils were caught to the head with tiny pink roses and they carried bouquets of shaded pink roses and carnations. Lieutenant D. Stewart and Ser-geant-Major W. Chadwick, of Te j Awamutu, were the best man and groomsman respectively. The ushers were Private K. Simpson and Mr H. Phillis. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Centreway Rooms, which were charmingly decorated with lilies and sweetpeas. Mrs Simpson received the guests in a navy pin-tucked sheer ensemble relieved with white, and a navy hat, and her posy was composed of red roses. The mother of the bridegroom was in a navy corded suit, a navy and white hat and she carried a posy of golden roses. When Mr and Mrs A. M. Bramald left by car on their honeymoon, the bride was in a navy pin-striped suit, a navy hat and navy accessories. They will make their home in Tauranga. FARQUHAR —WILLIAMS EMBOSSED SATIN GOWN The wedding took place at St. Mat- | thew’s Church, Auckland, on Saturday, February 22, of Zena Ellen, j daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Williams, I St. Luke’s Road, Mount Albert, and ! William Collins, eldest son of Mr and j Mrs W. Farquhar, of Waihou. Canon R. G. Coats officiated at the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her lather, wore a lovely gown of ivory embossed satin cut on slimfitting lines’ with a high neckline and a long graceful train. Her veil of Brussels lace was worn with a halo of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of lilies. Attending the bride was her cousin, Miss Margaret Millar, who wore a bouffant frock of ivory silk net finished with bows of pink and blue forget-me-nots. Her head-dress of Mowers was twined with matching velvet ribbons, and she carried a ■sheaf of pink dahlias. In attendance as page boy was Ernest Brough, wearing Highland dress. The bridegroom, who wore the uniform of the Te Aroha Pipe Band, : was attended by Mr R. Robertson, who jis also a member of the band. Mr R. Johnson, of Waihou. was the piper j at church, and Messrs G. Millar and ;K. Farquhar acted as ushers. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Mount Eden I tea kiosk, where Mrs Williams rcj ceived her guests wearing a navy lace ■ frock and hat, and she carried a posy jof reel roses. in the absence of the i bridegroom’s mother :-hc was assisted by Mrs B. P. Jolly, of Hamilton, who I wore a floral ensemble.
