CUT IN PETROL

FURTHER ECONOMY URGED (By Telegrapn.—Press Association) DUNEDIN, Friday A resolution expressing the desire of the Dunedin Manufacturers’ Association to give its support to any steps the Government may see fit to take in the direction of restriction on the use of petrol, and urging its members to do everything possible to comply with the appeal for voluntary economy in this respect, was adopted unanimously at a fully attended meeting of the association. The text of the resolution is as follows:—“That in view of the serious position of petrol supplies in the Dominion, the association urges its members to support in every possible way the Government’s request for economy. At the same time the association feels that the time has arrived for further compulsory restrictions to be imposed and will support whatever steps are necessary to have these carried out with a minimum of dislocation to industry.”
