WORK RESUMED
MILLERTON COAL MINERS INSPECTION BY COMMISSION (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WESTPORT, Friday The order to be present when the Coal Commission, consisting of Messrs A. McLogan, secretary of the Miners’ Federation, C. Strongman, of the Mines Department, and O. Bishop, the employers’ representative, inspect the mine to-day, the Millerton miners decided at a meeting yesterday to resume work today. A member of the Miners’ Union said that Mr O. Davis, mine manager of the Westport Coal Company, had been asked on Friday to consider concessions to ihe truckers in the heated area and on his refusal the union had reached a decision not to resume work until the area was inspected by the Coal Commission and consideration given to claims for a shorter working day or the closing down of the section in dispute. The men accordingly did not work on Monday.
