THAMES VALLEY POWER BOARD LOAN FINANCE OBTAINED (Special to Times) TE AROHA, Thursday The Thames Valley Power Board held its final meeting for the new year on Wednesday. Mr J. Price presided. The manager reported having completed arrangements for the £12,000 loan in Wellington at 3A per cent. There had been no local money forthcpming. The report for the period of nine months showed the board to be in a very sound position, a profit being made over the period of £6073. The chairman said the manager and staff were to be complimented upon the very satisfactory results. Mr Kennedy asked was it intended to make reduced charges. The chairman said nothing could be done until the end of the financial year. A finance committee recommendation was adopted that the board give free supply of electricity to the Home Guard for night parades.
