WEDDING

SKELTON—MATHIESON MAGNOLIA SATIN GOWN The marriage was solemnised at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary on Saturday, January 25, of Mary Veronica, only child of Mr and Mrs D. J. Mathieson, of Beale Street, Hamilton, and Percival Taylor, youngest son of Mr J. Skelton, of Auckland, and the late Mrs Skelton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father M. J. Bleakley. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a model gown of magnolia slipper satin, cut on flowing lines with a long train. The main trimming was a wide belt of sequins and pearls. The neck was heart-shaped and trimmed with orange blossom, and the full rucked sleeves finished with points over the hands. The embroidered veil was worn with a top-knot of white roses and white lilac and formed a second train. The bride carried a sheaf of white dahlias, carnations and maidenhair fern. The Bridesmaid The only bridesmaid was Miss Veda Hay, of Auckland, cousin of the bride, whose frock was of pink silk organdi with blue and silver stripes, fashioned on Victorian lines. Her headdress was a matching tulle veil and flowers, and she carried a sheaf of pink cactus dahlias, carnations and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Leading-Aircraftsman Clive Estcourt, of Ohakea. The ushers at the church were Mr A. S. Mathieson and Mr C. G. Geary, uncle and cousin respectively of the bride. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Centreway rooms, Mrs Mathieson receiving the guests wearing a black ensemble, a matching hat and accessories. Mr and Mrs P. T. Skelton left by car for the honeymoon, the bride wearing an ensemble of navy satinbacked sheer with a matching hat and accessories. The Guest List The invited guests were:—Mrs D.
