GIFT AFTERNOON
FOR MISS JUNE BANKS At the invitation of Mrs J. Banks and her daughter Susan, many friends of Miss June Banks attended a gift afternoon given recently in her honour. The afternoon was made particularly enjoyable by clock-golf and croquet competitions, Miss Elsie Robinson being the winner of the former. Mrs M. Wells and Miss A. Cox were the winners of the croquet. Large bowls of pink and red dahlias and carnations were arranged in the lounge, where, after tea had been served, the guest-of-honour opened the many parcels containing gifts of “linen.” Miss June Banks was wearing a frock of gold, self-embroidered linen. Mrs J. .Banks wore dusky pink sharkskin, Miss Susan Banks navy and white patterned waffle-pique, and Mrs Sefton Banks grey linen. The invited guests included:— Mesdames E. Firth, Gillies, W. Tudhope, O. R. Farrer and G. Gower. Misses C. Farrer, S. Tudhope, M. House, B. Joseph, J. Green and A. Gower who were all over from Hamilton. Mesdames H. C. Tod, R. Alford, F. Baker, H.
