WRECKAGE BEARS LETTERS {By Telea-rapD-—press Association) DARGAVILLE, Monday Proof of the loss of the steamer Turakina has been obtained by the discovery on the West Coast near Dargaville of a piece of timber bearing the signal letters of the vessel. The wreckage was found by a 16-year-old boy, Bernard Bradley, of Mangawhare. The harbourmaster. Captain J. Dutch, forwarded it to the Marine Department, which has confirmed its identity. TEACHER’S OFFENCE (By Tele&rapn.—Press Association) GREYMOUTH, Monday William Orvieto Baird Wilson, aged 27, single, school teacher, of Blackball, pleaded guilty of attempted unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl aged 12. He was committed to the Supreme Court in Christchurch for sentence, bail being allowed.
