NGAWIRI BRILLIANT HALF-MILE IN 49s A RESTRICTED PROGRAMME (By “Martian”) With the departure yesterday of the majority of local candidates for holiday engagements there was only a very restricted programme observed at Te Rapa when the going on the course proper, about 25ft. out from the rails, was in splendid order and conducive to fast times. Goulsbro) were associated over seven furlongs in 1.31 1-5, their first half-mile In 51 l-5s and six in 1.18 1-5. Both executed y their work pleasingly. Acquest (Meynell), Glenbevan (Ensor) and Bronze Bird (Long) were companions over five furlongs which they ran in the smart time of 1.4, after requiring 50$ s for the first half-mile.
