The object of the Pageant of Empire is to endeavour to portray in such a way as to make it interesting - , some of the main points that have made British History. Much work has gone into this Production. It is a production that calls for a good deal of research work and a lot of hard work on the part of those taking 1 part. The amateurs of Hamilton have responded nobly to the call and are presenting- something - unique in the history of the district. An Orchestra of 18 are giving - their services, and performers to the extent of approximately 70. All are imbued with the one idea, to make the Pageant live in the minds of those who come to see it, SUPPORT THIS WORTHY EFFORT Book Now at Vales’ Book Shop, Victoria St for the PAGEANT OF EMPIRE Prices of Admission: 3A (Reserves) and 2/I \ “ Regions Caesar never knew, Thy posterity shall sway.” Thus writes the poet, and it is true today. Regions unknown and undiscovered in the time of Caesar are now flourishing and loyal countries within the British Empire. The Briton of the past looked around him and saw only the Islands of the North Sea. The Briton of today talks and reads of events which occur thousands of miles away in other parts of the Empire, in other parts of the world. The British Empire has become the greatest influence in the world as an instrument of justice among the nations. It is one of the few remaining forces in the world that will be able to withstand the onslaught from the Dictators. The Pageant of Empire serves to recall these facts to the citizens of the community. " None have gone about to break Parliaments, But in the end Parliaments have broken them.” Thus wrote Sir John Elliot in 1629. The Pageant of Empire in one of its Episodes depicts the rise of Parliamentary Government and the struggle with the Royal power in the time of Charles I. The privileges of Parliament were reasserted, and the rights of the people restored. DON’T MISS SEEING THE PAGEANT OF EMPIRE AT THE THEATRE ROYAL, HAMILTON, ON NOVEMBER 5,6, AND 7.
