Warner Bros. 9 News of The W eek “ Brother Eat and a Baby,” the new Warner Bros.’ comedy, picks up the lives of the principal characters of last year’s comedy hit, “ Brother Rat.” Apparently, nothing very important happened to the “ Brother Hat ” characters during the past year. But a lot happened to the film players who are bringing these characters to the screen. Wayne Morris married the former Bubbles Schinasi, cigarette heiress, and has recently become a real life father. He also furthered his screen career by doing several successful pictures including “ The Return of Dr. X,” and moved into a palatial estate in the Brentwood district. Miss Lane became a screen star, and with her sister, Rosemary, bought a home in Laurel Canyon. She was rumoured married to Oren Haglund (but it was only a rumour). And she worked as hard as any young star ever had done in Hollywood, making “ Dust Be My Destiny,” “ The Roaring Twenties.” and “Four Wives.” Eddie Albert went back to New York and starred in a Broadway musical show. Then he returned to Hollywood to appear in 4i On Your Toes ” and “ Four Wives.” Like Miss Lane, Miss Bryan became a full-fledged star. She won a critics* poll for a best supporting performance of the month in “ The Old Maid,” with Bette Davis and Miriam Hopkins, and she had the thrill of making her first trip across the continent. Perhaps the most important thing that happened to Miss Wyman and Ronald Reagan was their discovery of each other. “ Brother Rat ” started that, and they plan to finish it by getting married, and as for Peter B. Good, the baby, a lot happened to him during the past year. He came from Switzerland to America. He moved from San Francisco to Hollywood, and matching the record of Miss Lane and Miss Bryan, he became a movie star. “ Brother Rat and a Baby ” continues the madcap adventures of the characters just one year after their graduation. Eddie Albert, who became a father on Commencement Day, is the proud papa of little “Commencement” (Peter B. Good). Jane Bryan is the mother, the other two are just having girl Priscilla Lane and Jane Wyman are the girl friends. “ Commencement,” the baby who was bom on graduation day, is the real little trouble-maker and his exploits land his mother and father and the other two couples into an hilarious series of adventures and misadventures.
