POLICE OFFICER HONOURED

SUB-INSPECTOR G. H. LAMBERT Tributes to the work of SubInspector G. H. Lambert, of Wellington, during the five years for which he was senior-sergeant of police in Hamilton were paid this morning when lie was presented with a collection of cut glass from the legal practitioners of Hamilton. The president of the Hamilton District Law Society, Mr H. J. McMullin, presided at the function, which was held in the Hamilton law library. “ During the time Mr Lambert was in Hamilton as senior-sergeant he was well known among the barristers and solicitors for his unfailing courtesy and his easy manner of approach,” said Mr McMullin, when making the presentation. “ On every occasion he gave his assistance when it was needed.”

In reply, Sub-Inspector Lambert thanked the members of the bar for the kindly manner in which they had treated him during his term in Hamilton.
