Members of the Matamata Gun Club held a clay bird shoot on Saturday, when the weather was ideal though a tricky wind militated against good scores. Following are details of results:— Five-bird Eye-opener (single track). —J. Broomhall and B. Smith, 5; If. Rrinkworth. L. Mason and C. Green, 4. Six-bird Sweepstake (single track). —C. Green. 6; F. H. McFarlane. J. Broomhall, B. Smith, li. Davis, E. Green, 5. Ten-bird Sweepstake (live-track). —L. O. Mason, 9; R. Brinkworth, 8; B. Smith, W. Horne, 7. Nine-bird Sweepstake (single track) —R. Brinkworth, E. Green, E. Davis, W. O’Kane. 8; W. Horne. C. Green, 7. Ellery Trophy, for most breaks with first barrel.—L. O. Mason and J. Broomhall tied with 21, Broomhall winning the shoot-off on the third target; R. Brinkworth 20. E. Green 19.
