WAIKATO EAST TITLE

GLADING WINS DALE MATAMATA OPEN TOURNEY (Special to Times.) MATAMATA, Monday. R. H. Glading (Hamilton) retained his Waikato East championship title at the Matamata Golf Club’s open tournament, played at Okauia on Sunday. Although he did not play as well as on previous occasions, Glading won by a margin of six from H. Dale (Te Aroha). The winner’s morning card, 72, was the best of the day, the best afternoon card, 73, being handed in by L. H. Little (Matamata), who won the senior Stableford with a score of 40. The weather was perfect, and there were more than 100 entries in the tournament, visitors being present from Rotorua, Tokoroa, Arapuni, Putaruru, Tauranga, Walton, Te Aroha, Hamilton, Morrinsville and Paeroa.
