MINISTER LICENSED

STUDENT FROM HAMILTON Mr Allan D. Robertson, a member of St. Andrew’s congregation, Hamilton, who entered the Theological Hall, Dunedin, on the recommendation of the Waikato Presbytery, was licensed as a probationer minister of the Presbyterian Church of New' Zealand at a special meeting of the Presbytery in St. Andrew's Church last night before a large congregation. The Moderator, the Rev. J. H. Combes, conducted the ceremony, which was most impressive. The musical portion of the service was under the baton of Mr E. H. Apthorp, and the choir sang the anthem. “How Beautiful upon the Mountains.” Mr Robertson, who while studying has been in charge of a home mission station near Dunedin, is to receive a call to a congregation hi the suburbs of Christchurch. The biennial visitation of St. Andrew's congregation also took place yesterday, the Presbytery commissioners being the Revs. C. L. French and J. Haslop. They met the minister, the session and the management committee and will report to the meeting of the Presbytery next week. At the conclusion of the service last night the members of the Presbytery and the congregation were the guests of the office-bearer* at supper.
