Oct. 15 The death has occurred of Helen Simpson, the novelist, after a short illness. Helen Simpson, who was born in • 1897, married in 1927 Mr Denis, i F.R.C.S. She published her first book, “Acquitted,” in 1925, and following came “The Baseless Fabric,” “Cups, Wands and Swords,” “The I Desolate House,” “Vantage Striker,” “Boomerang,” “The Woman on the Beast,” “Henry VIII.,” “Enter Sir John,” “Printer’s Devil,” and “Reenter, Sir John.’
