AUTHORITY GIVEN

POWER RETICULATION TE AKAU—WAIMAI AREA It was reported at a meeting of the Central Waikato Electric-Power Board to-day that the sanction of the Electricity Controller had been received for the reticulation of the Te Akau-Waimai area. Following upon this a canvass was being conducted to ensure adherence to the guarantee previously signed. This canvass had not been completed in time for the meeting, but there was evidence that in several cases changed conditions had necessitated a reduction of the amounts guaranteed. However, this had to some extent been made up in other cases. A special committee was set up to consider the result of the completed canvass, and if this were satisfactory to authorise the work to proceed. Mr T. Hinton presided at the meeting and there was a full attendance of the members, Messrs W. Henry, W. C. E. George J. A. Sampson, R. G. Young. R. Eyre. G. Smith. N. Reid. F. L. Onion. E. F. Peacock. Mr H J. (secretary-treasurer) and Mr J. R. Ellis (engineermanager) were m attendance.
