REFEREE KNOCKED OUT
END TO WRESTLING BOUT (By Telegraph. — special to Tim.*) AUCKLAND, Tuesday When the referee, Mr J. McLean, was knocked out In the fifth round, a wrestling match in the Town Hall last night between Earl McCready, ul Canada, and Lofty BlomfieW, of Auckland, lor the British Empire title, came to an end. Mr McLean had stepped between the pair when a willing elbow jolting exchange was in progress. He was hit on the mouth and fell to the mat, where McCready was knocked over him and Blomfield jumped on top of both of them. 1 he wrestlers continued to pummel each other over the referee’s proatrate body, and it was not until a sergeant of police and four constables had entered the ring that they ceased their attack. Mr McLean was lifted from the mat and carried to a corner, where he partially revived betore being assisted to his dressing-room. It took him some time to recover lullv, and he then complained oi a sore mouth and an injured back.
