Special prayers and thanks foi : safety were said in St. Paul’s Cathedral today, when the first luncheon i service since the removal of the unI exploded bomb was held, j The officiating Canon gave thanks | for the courage, skill and devotion I to duty of the men who disposed ot j the bomb. Tate Gallery Hit ; It is learned that during last . week’s air raids on London a bomb j hit the Tate Gallery, famous for its i collection of modern British paintI ings and sculpture and for the ! special galleries containing works by | Turner and Sargent, also modern foreign artists. Three Hospitals Damaged Three hospitals were damaged by bombs. In two there were no casualties. j In the third, one of London’s old- ; est hospitals, a medical block was j wrecked by a high-explosive bomb, ! which passed through a staircase, j missing wards on either side. ! Patients occupied basement shelters, ! but one medical officer was injured.
